Just like the pillow cover itself it has a zipper on the back.
The top part of the pillowcase (where your face rests) is very soft.
The tag says 50% polyester and 50% cotton.
I washed it before using it and it didn't shrink.
Machine wash cold,tumble dry and bleach when necessary is allowed.

(More customer reviews)This pillow is wonderful.I've used buckwheat pillows for years and they can't be beat for support.The millet side is absolutely luxurious.It really is silky smooth!Both of them together make this the best pillow I've ever tried to sleep on, at least texture-wise.There's just one problem: this pillow is so small that it looks like a doll pillow.The measurements provided here must have been the unfilled pillow.The filled pillow is actually closer to 12x9".It's so small that when I sleep on my side (which is most of the night) it doesn't provide enough support and I wake up sore.I'll probably wind up buying the larger duo pillow to sleep on and using this one for travel or as a lumbar pillow.
If this pillow really was 14x11 as stated -when filled and ready for use- I would've given it 5 stars.

These have the same *feeling* as down, but are heavier (weight).They plump up very nicely, and provide the same support as a medium-firm down pillow.If you have allergies, these are ideal.
I'm really sold on them -- in fact, I'm getting ready to order 4 more.I just wish they came in Queen size.

The wool layer is very soft, but not squishy, and the buckwheat hulls provide firm, contoured support. I've been using this pillow for about three nights, and I already notice a significant improvement in my neck and shoulders, and even in my sinuses. I sleep through the night without having to adjust the pillow. This pillow is significantly more comfortable and supportive than the down and memory foam pillows I've tried. It also seems to provide better ventilation and heat dissipation than pillows with synthetic fill.
